Stories from a South African Childhood

By Trevor Noah

ree

Gifted writer, voice full of energy and superb comedian, Trevor Noa’s story is no joke. I recall studying the Apartheid at school, but never quite understood how terrible life could be until I read his story. Full of details of what it entailed nor what the daily life for a poor kid was like. Fast paced, filled with horror stories and full of humor including his never-win discussions with his mother when it came to religion.

After all what he went through, at no point in the book do you sense anger or hate but rather the voice of a young man full of wisdom full of life. He openly and freely shares his views on racism without a sting nor resentment, in a very matter-of-fact way. A must-read.
